DH, you are right. If a person were in REM rebound, they wouldn't be in REM all night long, I don't think. Yet, I don't know to what extent REM rebound keeps a person in REM sleep. Could it be that some people's REM rebound is different from others? I remember when I began CPAP that it seemed like I was dreaming non-stop. I was quite amazing to me.

One thing that may be of interest. I believe I have read about a kind of medication that can prevent REM sleep. I wonder if this kind of drug would be of help.
