My husband has been waking up on and off for ten years now kicking me, throwing his pillow around the room, pulling my hair, hitting me as his arms swing out, running down the hall... all from a dead sleep. He wakes up with his heart pounding so hard he feels like he is dying, or his hear will burst. He is healthy, fairly young and athletic. A very nice non violent person. I feel like he wakes up holding his breath but I cannot be certain. He yanked my hair so hard the other night my neck was stiff. His heart pounding when he wakes up and running down the hall, and of course his hits on me, are really all disturbing to him. He does have anxiety a bit as he has a stressful job.

Is this normal for sleep apenea? Thoughts? Anyone had kicking, hitting, running, heart exploding, etc??
