I really don't know anything about UARs, but self-adjusting your pressure is not the best way to go, unless you have an auto-adjusting PAP and can monitor your nightly stats. Pressures that are too high can cause central apneas, and how would you know those were happening?

If you can't get insurance to cover a titration study, your next best bet might be to get the autopap, along with the software, even if you have to pay for it out of your own pocket (which is what I did).
