I have been having a problem for over six months now. I've been on a CPAP for over 5 years and have never had trouble until now. I noticed a few months ago than upon waking my throat and my chest ( I assume it's the trachea, bronchial tubes, etc.) felt irritated. It wasn't so bad at first, but it's gotten much worse. I left off the CPAP a few times, and I seemed to feel better, but I know that's dangerous. I'n not sure if the CPAP is causing the problem or if it is aggravating another problem. My throat now burns in the mornings, and I feel as though the trachea, etc. are raw and inflamed. It's very uncomfortable. After I'm up for an hour or two it gets better. I've considered making an appt with a pulmonologist, but I don't know if that's the route to go. I've tried changing brands of water, different CPAP pressures, more humidity. Nothing seems to help. Has anyone had this problem besides me? Thank you.
