Hi, I am pretty new to use of a CPAP machine. When I first took it home, I did okay with it. I left it on when I got up to use the restroom at night. My Dr saw the peaks in pressure and lowered my pressure. Now, I am always careful to turn it off before I remove the mask. The problem is that since the pressure has been reduced, I feel like I am suffocating sometimes in my mask. I especially notice it when I first put it on at night. I have to tell myself to relax, I won't suffocate... that I am getting plenty of air. Eventually, I go to sleep but the feeling of shortness of breath is unpleasant. Is this something I will just have to get used to or would it help to ask my Dr to increase the pressure?

Second question.... Sometimes I notice an odor in the air. Apart from cleaning, is there anything I can do about this? It smells a bit musty.

Thanks for your help. I just found this forum and am very glad you are out there! Regards
