Can CPAP cause vertigo/dizzyness?

I was prescribed a CPAP machine about a year ago, used it for three months, and then stopped because I didn't notice any positive effects on my daytime sleepiness. My sleep Dr. wants to test me for Narcolepsy, so he wanted me to try using the CPAP again for two weeks to get ready for the Narcolepsy test, since I'll have to wear the CPAP for the overnight sleep. The problem is, I have had some fairly strong bouts of vertigo ever since starting with the CPAP last week, some being mild and lasting nearly all day, to some being fairly short and intense at random times during the day. I don't remember this happening before when I tried CPAP. Anyone else experience the same when first starting CPAP? Or is it just my brain adjusting to getting sleep and oxygen at night? As a side note, I still don't feel anymore awake since I started using the CPAP again.
