Pain at the base of the tongue may be caused by myofascial trigger points in the area. These could be perpetuated by post nasal drip and other localized conditions. Do you have TMJ or other area pain, dysfunction or weakness? Myofascial trigger points (MTPs) can also cause hoarseness, contribute to TMJ, cause ear pain and other dysfunctions, depending on where they are. If it is MTPs, you can find them and get rid of them, or at least keep them at bay. Star Cat
