Alamo Joe makes some great points. Pelvic pain from myofascial trigger points is often misdiagnosed as fibrolyamgia, but it also may be a main contributor of the central sensitization state. Research indicates that myofascial trigger points are sufficient to cause pelvic pain of menstrual cramps, interstitial cystitis, pain mistaken for prostatitis, etc. They can also occur as a result of these conditions and their symptoms can persist long after the consditions are treated successfully. I also need to state up fron that I am not presently in clinical practice. Star Cat
