I use a Remstar C-Flex. For me it has been a life saver, literally. The regular CPAP was set at a specific pressure. My pressure needs vary greatly due to activation of myofascial trigger points and varying congestion. I had to purchase the unit and then get the Smart Card printout of the first 3 months to prove to my insurance company that I needed it, and then was reimbursed. I need to use ear plugs as I have hyperacusia, so I can't tell if it is noisier. You might want to ask your doctor why the perscription was specified as CPAP. Star Cat
