I can offer information due to my personal experience.

There is no question that lack of proper sleep caused this action for me.

It took several sleep tests to adjust my vent and oxygen to the right settings in order for me to get restorative sleep, then all was well again.

Perhaps the right settings are necessary, a new sleep test would confirm this.
