I've been on CPAP for several years and insomnia has worsened. The doctor tried several different medications and we finally settled on Klonopin which seems to work best. I have an autopap and can download my nightly statistics showing whether apneas and hypopneas are occurring. There has been no increase in either since I've started the Klonopin and I now sleep an unbroken 6-8 hours a night. I would not worry about the tv doctor. Your own doctors know you and your medical history best. Good luck.
