I, too, am a side sleeper and have had good luck with the ResMed Ultra Mirage nasal mask and the Activa. People often need to try different masks before finding the best fit. And I hope you are using a heated humidifier.

Also, why was the pressure lowered from 15 to 10? If 15 is needed to stop all apneas and the pressure was lowered just to help you accommodate to CPAP, then you might continue to have apneas which would contribute to your discomfort. No one is going to be able to keep a mask on all night if they feel smothered.
