You can't purchase one of these without a perscription. The doctor writes a script for the machine and the pressure settings. A typical script might read: CPAP, autoset mode 8-12 cm or Auto-CPAP 8-12 cm. There are three major brands that are marketed and sold in the US: Respironics, ResMed, and Puritan Bennett. All are good. Models from Respironics and ResMed have more features but the current model from P&B is the least expensive and a good machine. You should also strongly consider purchasing the integrated heated humidifier that goes with the machine. Mask selection is important too.

The best medical care is to have a sleep study first and get a pressure titration number from the sleep lab before buying an auto-CPAP. Then, the pressure limit settings for the auto machine might be best to be in a range of about 6 cm, maybe 4 cm below and 2 cm above the lab pressure recommendation.
