First of all, you may have RLS (Restless Legs Syndrome) confused with PLM (Periodic Leg Movements). The former occurs while one is awake, the latter while one is asleep. If it is PLM that you have (which it sounds like from your description), then it is possible that it is happening more because you are sleeping better.
