Should I be tested?

I'm in my 20s and generally feel a lack of energy and tiredness for what I think is normal for my age. A few years ago I expressed concerns to my doc who said I probably just need more sleep than most people and should exercise more. Well, now I'm getting more sleep (8-9 hours a night) and I still feel tired and without energy most of the time. I tape recorded my sleep last night, and found I do snore pretty loudly from time to time, ending with me shifting around quite a bit each time. I don't really hear gasps. Sleep apnea is in the family. I don't think the doc will refer me for a sleep study - last time when I asked about it he said it was basically a last resort option and suggested that I was probably just overreacting. Is it worth pushing for or am I just a little hypochondriac?
