My reply may seem extreme but it saved my life.

Nothing worked for me until the MD's said I would be dead in three weeks if I did not have a trach.

This was fifteen years ago and I have been attaching my plastic hose to a plastic trach tube with zero problems all this time.

This is a last resort solution but it can be reversed and it may be your answer
I spend more time brushing my teeth than I do caring for my trach.
