I wouldn't want to guess or advise if you should be on CPAP or not, but if you're not going to be on CPAP, don't plan on gaining any weight. Your study showing only hypopneas won't be valid anymore. The whole thing could turn into a bad case of apnea if you dont't watch it closely. That's how people get into this mess in the first place. Their sleep suffers for whatever reason, and they turn to high calorie foods for an energy boost (the next day) that should have been there in the first place with quality sleep the night before. Then, the regular diet of rich foods makes the problem worse in only the course of a few weeks, I would think.
