As a newbie (figuratively) I'm floundering - on my 3rd mask type, and still dealing w/ leaks. But there's more: the first machine model I had worked beautifully, but did not have the card and slot for the MD to monitor my progress. So they switched me out to a new one, which has a ramp, but plays noisy little tunes with my breathing. It's ok, if I'm deep asleep, but when I come to lighter levels of sleep, it really bothers me, and the high pressure (after the ramp) can be hard to deal with unless I'm sleeping soundly (no pun intended).

I'm hoping this new (gel) mask will resolve some of the sleeping difficulties so the noise and pressure recede into the background. But after almost 6 months, I'm kind of discouraged, and tired of waking up w/ dents in my face. The good news is, I'm still here - and waking up feeling more like the self I knew, of old, gives me hope that I can make further progress.

This is my first post. Am I writing it in the right place? --Cymry
