Getting optimal treatment for nasal allergies is, IMHO, absolutely essential for making CPAP work. I think it's nearly impossible to make any mask -- either full face or nasal -- work when allergies make breathing so difficult. I was very fortunate in that my allergies were brought under better control before I was tested for sleep apnea. It just happened to occur in that order. Then once I got the heated humidifier for the CPAP machine, I became a nose breather for the first time in 25 years. Oftentimes there are many non-apnea related issues that need to be treated before CPAP really works.
Good for you for sticking to it. I wound up with an autopap which works really well for me.
