I too have difficulty with masks. My machine is great (an APAP with humidifier) so that the
inhaling adjusts with me. But finding the right mask for leaks is hard enough. I've used a
CPAP or APAP since 2004. I've tried the ResMed Swift Mirage as well as theOptiLife and a
Respironics. Now I again am trying a Comfort Lite2. I like the nasal pillows better, but
they're not a perfect fit. I think, tho, even if it seems to leak a slight amount, it's good
enough. What bothers me the most, tho, is that straps often don't fit comfortably enough on my
head. I lay on my back in order to keep the mask on the most reliably. I also wear a chin
strap to help remind my mouth to stay closed. However, I tend to get migraines easily,
even with medication to prevent them. So if the straps aren't exactly right, they make the
area near the left side of the back of my head tender. Or I tense up my neck in my sleep
to try to keep the mask in place. Do others have this same problem? I have even tried
modifying the straps, but unsuccessfully. I wish the manufacturers would come up with a
better "cap" to go along with the front of the mask.Maybe this should be a separate post. Headachy
