No one has responded to your post in two weeks, so I will mention a few things. Yes, from reading this and other forums for many years, it is common to be switched to Bi-PAP, aka Bi-level therapy if your pressure is up in the higher regions. With a pressure of 20, it makes it very difficult to breathe out against the inhale pressure that needs to be there to keep your airway from collapsing.
About the gas and air swallowing, you need to figure that this is mainly a problem of your high pressure needs. While these kind of symptoms can be eased, sometimes, by finding a different sleeping position on one side or another, or on your back only, you kind of got to figure you should see your overall health as an emergency at this point. Weight loss and lowering your pressure needs should be a top priority in your life at this time. Consult your doctor about a weight loss plan.
