You should talk to your sleep doc and let him know you take xanax for insomnia prior to the day of your sleep study. He may want you to take it during the study to find the titration needed with the medication or he may want you off it for a certain amount of time.
Your beliefs seem backward. CPAP and Bipap, if used properly, will help sleep apnea, never heard of it making it worse, and studies have shown that xanax makes sleep quality and apnea worse.
How do you know for certain that xanax it not making your apnea worse?
