I started pap therapy (Bipap in my case) in Nov. '07. I too noticed strange sensations like you mentioned for the first few weeks or so. Been awhile since you posted; thus, hope things are better now. I've got other issues now; however, can say that (even at high pressures) I don't have any kind of chest/breathing issues. Just took some getting used to.

For what it's worth, try turning off the ramp (4's a little low to start w/ anyway I would think) and just start off at your sleep pressure of 8 cm. I don't like the ramp and/or autopap feature on my machine due to waking up w/ changes. I do much better w/ constant pressure through out the night....Good Luck!!
