I have read alot of your generous posts helping others and I could use your help too.
After a long wait I finally got into sleep clinic at the Halifax Infirmary. A couple of weeks ago I was in for sleep analysis and met with the Dr. a few days later. I had 51 apneas in one hour. I have their cpac home with me for a week and after the Dr. gets the info off the card I will have another appointment. I know if I'm a good candidate cpac will be prescribed. I did ask about alternatives and more or less got a quick overview of surgical treatments and dental devices but "lets see how we do on cpac first". That's cool, if I can find some relief I will use one.
You seem very knowledgeable and I am just starting to educate myself. I would like to have a better understanding of all the different options, how intrusive and successful they can be. I am only 47 and not overweight. I really don't like the idea of wearing a mask for the next 30++ years. If it's not too much to ask and you can find the time it would be great if you could explain the different procedures keeping in mind that this is all new. Spell it out for me, abbriviations and medical jargon will go right over my head. You will be a big help to me.
Do you live in Halifax? You mentioned seeing a surgeon who was affiliated with Dal. I'm just outside the city toward the airport. We are lucky to have such fantastic professionals here.
Thanks for everything.
