I lost weight by paying £8,000 to have a Gastric Band fitted in Dec. 07.
I had to pay for it myself because even though I weighed 280 lbs the Uk's NHS did not think I was big enough for them to waste their money on me. I had Hight Blood Pressure for 19 years, Sleep Apnoea for 7 and Clinical Depression for many years.
First to go was my depression and my Anti Depressant pills.
Then the Blood Pressure went down to normal. For a 4 month period while off my pills I had to have 3-4 weekly checks and now am 6 monthly.
My sleep apnoea is the last hurdle and now I am over that I am so pleased.
Would I spend so much money on having a Gastric Band fitted again. YES
