Chronic fatigue -- go up to the Search button at the top righthand corner of this screen, click and type in 'chronic fatigue.' You will get literally hundreds of entries from previous forums from members with a diagnosis of chronic fatigue syndrome. Reading through some of them will probably give you lots of (hopefully helpful) information.
How long do most people take to feel better? Everyone is different. Some start to feel wonderful right away, some gradually feel better, some discover that solving the sleep problem brings to light other medical problems. Part of it depends how long and how severely you suffered from sleep apnea prior to diagnosis. Longterm, untreated OSA can mess with hormones and metabolism. It can be an up and down thing. I was doing well, then came a death in the family followed by hip replacement surgery and I crashed. Dr. theorized that stress caused my serotonin levels to really drop and I'm now on an SSNRI medication and seem to be doing much better.
The mask should not be so tight that it hurts. It's counterintuitive, but looser is better. I switch between the Ultra Mirage and the Activa, both nasal masks, and they sort of float on my face, particularly the Activa. The air pressure keeps them inflated and sealed for the most part. I learned the technique to keep the air from blowing through my mouth which made everything much more comfortable.
Yes, I was really, really fatigued, figure I had undiagnosed OSA for 20 years and I was a complete zombie, couldn't learn anything new, couldn't remember anything for 30 seconds, had to pull over to doze so I didn't fall asleep on my 30-minute drive to work, had been singing for years and couldn't remember any of the words to Christmas carols where I used to have multiple verses all memorized. Life now isn't perfect, but it's a whole lot better.
So hang in there and deal with each thing as it comes up. Life really does get better. Best of luck to you.
