New Insurance Policy Denial-OSA

My application for individual insurance with United Health Care was denied because of my diagnosis with mild OSA. I use the Somnomed MAD to treat it. Has anyone else ever been denied new coverage because of this and successfully appealed? If so, what was your appeal approach?
