Thanks for the input. I would not do anything without first seeing the doctor. I do not really know how severe my apnea is. I was told I had it, and that the machine should be set at 10.
Since the cost of the DA would be expensive, it seems I have to learn the lesson before I get the experience. I assume I would have to get a fitted DA before I could take the test. If it fails to help, I would have thrown away about 1500 dollars. Hmm. The machine isn't really a problem, other than I assume it might be the cause of some hearing loss in one ear, which did come on quickly. And I did go to Florida for 4 days this week without the machine, and the hearing problem appeared to improve somewhat. All is a definite maybe!!
