The CPAP air goes two places: Into your lungs, but also, it is felt at the valve at the end of your esophagus which opens and closes into the stomach. The medical name for this is the esophageal sphincter. This is the body part that is letting air into your digestive system. The valve, normally closed, is being overcome by the high pressure.
There is one thing you can try, but there is also one thing you must do. What you can try is to discover if the problem is positional. In other words, you may do better sleeping on one side and not another, or you may do better on your back only. Put some effort towards trying to find your best position.
The second thing you need to do is very hard. Don't see this as a put down...you need to reduce your pressure needs by losing weight. Air in the stomach can be a problem that gradually gets better, but up and around 20 cm, it becomes a battle to achieve no air in the stomach. You should see the weight loss as an emergency and seek medical advice how this can be done. Once you've reduced, call your doctor and have him/her reduce your perscription pressure a few points. This will work towards keeping the air out of the stomach.
