Hi SleepyDave,

I am glad to hear your allergies are better controlled, but I would ask your doctors what they think about long term use of Allegra-D. Anything with psuedoephedrine can have detrimental effects on blood pressure and actually interfere with sleep. I took claritin-D for years but had a kind of bad reaction and was switched to a diff. oral antihistimine and a nasal antihistimine called Astelin, which has greatly increased my ability to breathe through my nose. Astepro, which is actually the same ingredient as Astelin, is another option (and, just to be clear, I don't own stock in either of these companies).

If your apnea is significantly improved with the controlled allergies, perhaps an oral appliance made by a dentist would help control your apnea without cpap. Check with your sleep doc to see if that might be an option.

Best of luck.
