Nasal congestion can really play hell with CPAP. I had my turbinates reduced (using the stone age method) about 7 years ago in an effort to reduce the pressures required of the CPAP machine. Unfortunately, the benefit was temporary or imagined, I'm not sure. My sinus problems seemed to develop after the surgery, though I am now suspecting that they may be caused, all or in part, by pressure of my mask against my face where the maxillary sinus (I think it's called) is located.
