To relieve the GERD symptoms, if you haven't already done so, you should elevate the head end of your bed about six inches. I put six inch blocks under the head end legs and about three inch blocks under the middle supports. It relieved my wife's GERD immediately. Caution: Be careful if you use satin sheets...you may need a footboard to keep you from winding up on the floor!
