I have had a Profile Lite gel mask for 4 years (guess it's the older version?) has the swivel exhalation port. It is the petite mask size (don't know if this makes any difference)...pressure 9...my question that I have never gotten the definitive answer to is do I keep both cap ports closed-like shut! (not on oxygen) I just went in this morning to get some new caps since the dog chewed on one and the home supply guy said they would give them to me-reluctantly -BUT I am not suppose to have either on the mask-both ports fully open. I have run into this ever since I have had the machine/mask- telling me 'Yes- close them! or "No Way" My understanding, which is confused!- is that with this particular mask the ports are supposed to be closed at all times....PLEASE help!...would not like it very much if I was, in the last four years, dying of CO2 Help would be so much appreciated- so I can once and for all put the issue to rest! By the way I have found in the past...I thought...on the Respironics site...somewhere!..says "ports on", for this Profile Lite mask...I'm assuming they mean closed?..although that info could have been a dream- can't find any info. Thanks again!
