It's pretty normal to sleep poorly during a polysomnogram. I did as well.
One nice thing about obstructive sleep apnea is that there is a treatment (CPAP) that is effective and doesn't use drugs. You may have trouble getting used to it (I did), but stick with it and it should help. It may be all that you need.
The request for a blood test might indicate that your doctor suspects something specific (such as thyroid problems) but it might also just be a routine precaution, particularly if you haven't had a blood test recently or your last one wasn't very comprehensive. Doctors need to be able to rule out alternative possibilities, and the fact that they request a test doesn't mean that something is wrong.
