Newbie with 2 questions

Hi Everyone,

I'm new to forums. I will be getting CPAP soon (first sleep study showed severe OSA and just completed second study for titration). Can you help with a couple of questions?

1) Masks. The full-face mask I used for titration constantly developed leaks. I am a side sleeper who changes positions frequently during the night. Prior to the study, I considered myself a mouth breather. However, I found that I slept comfortably with my mouth closed while using the CPAP so perhaps a full mask isn't a necessity. Suggestions on what type of mask to start with?

2) Flying. I will be flying about a week after getting CPAP. I won't need to use CPAP during the flights, but I wondered if I need to get prior approval for carrying it onto the plane. Given the expense of CPAP equipment, I hesitate to put it in a checked bag. Anyone know?
