Here are the conclusions:
"There is evidence of moderately severe obstructive sleep apnea. Patient has been refractory to a treatment and BiPAP at 16/12 cm eliminated most sleep disordered breathing events although frequent central events during the titration still persisted with minimal oxygen desaturation and sleep fragmentation. Treatment options would include retitration with a possible adaptive servo-ventilation (ASV) to assess efficacy or BiPAP with an S-T mode. Alternately, if the patient was amenable to a BiPAP trail although suboptimal this could be initiated at 16/12 cm with close follow up and auto-titration for 2 weeks to further optimize treatment of the patients severe sleep disordered breathing."
My Doctor made no mention of anything but BiPAP at 16/12. I picked up the BiPAP today and got a copy of sleep study as a result. So day is first time I got more then a few seconds look at the report.
I'm trying figure out just how bent out of shape I am that we're going down the suboptimal path, and that there was not even any discussion of the recommended path. Granted I haven't tried the BiPAP yet, but this has been a long miserable battle. Heading down suboptimal path just seems like a bad idea. And we're not really following the path as recommended. There's not close follow up and auto-titration. Its try this, see you in four months.
I'm more then a little worked up about this, so I was hoping others might give me some perspective on it. Thoughts?
