In the U.S. and Canada, distiller water is readily available. In the U.S. you can buy a U.S. gallon (3.78 liters or approx 80% of a U.K. gallon) for U.S. $0.83 at Walmart. I don't know if it's available in the U.K. IF you can't get distilled water, get purified water. If you can't get that then just use any water that's safe to drink. If will leave a residue, but you can clean that out.
