In about 5-6 weeks I'm set up for a sleeptest to find out if I have obstructive sleep apnea. I can't wait to figure this out and become better.
I wanted to start CPAP treatment as soon as possible, but the doctor would not sign the prescribtion. I had to wait for more proof of sleep apnea and tests. Some of my symptoms are chronic tiredness and fatigue, waking up 1-2 times each night, waking up gasping for air(feels like being near death when this happens) and very dry mouth each morning. These for at least 15 years.
Airways also feels restricted during daytime in nose and upper throat. I have not high blood pressure though.Interesting, earlier blood tests show elevated erytrocytes which is seen in hypoxia(low oxygen). Low oxygen is typical sleep apnea, am I right?
I know this is individual and hopefully soon I will know the answer, but if this really is sleep apnea, how much improvement can be expected with the right treatment?
I read and heard about people with sleep apnea getting a new life and this is fantastic. Hopefully I will be able to take up my studies and get on with my life.Thank you
