I have noticed that whenever the elasticity goes out of the headgear, I have a tendency to turn my head into odd positions to stop mask leaks. I occasionally wake up with neck and shoulder pain from holding my head in these uncomfortable positions. I seldom wake fully enough through the course of the sleep session to realize the position my head is in. It's too easy for me to put off until later the simple operation of changing headgear.
