Posted by Barb (Seattle) on October 07, 2009 at 19:24:31:My husband has stated the last few nights, that I quit breathing anyway even when I am using this machine. He counted 20 seconds the other night. I felt him nudging me last night too. My question is that I thought the bipap FORCED you to breathe? Why am I having apneas? I read the read out for today, and it was 27 ahi. That is quite high :-( I'll probably call my doctor tomorrow, I was just wondering why the pressure isn't opening my airway enough. It's set on 12 for inhaling, and 8 for exhale.
