I hesitate to jump in because I am no expert. However, I think there may be confusion between two terms. Those of us with apnea usually speak in terms of the respiratory disturbance index. That number should be 5 or less. By that criterion, 7.6 (on the RDI) would suggest treatment if you show other symptoms such as excessive treatment.

However, you don't have an RDI of 7.6. Arousals per hour is a different measure. Even sound sleepers do have EEG-measured arousals, and 7.6 arousals per hour seems well within the normal range (which is below 20).
