Most oxygen tubing manufactured for medical oxygen therapy is made of plastic or vinyl. New plastic or vinyl will gas-off for a period of time. As time passes this "gassing" effect decreases. Although all oxygen tubing will gas-off for a period of time, you may want to try Green Oxygen Tubing that has an extra safety feature of visibility. This oxygen tubing may "gas-off" if brand new but the green color helps to prevent tripping and tangling.
