The results were encouraging. According to the tech, I was event free on the ASV machine. I definitely felt better. I had trouble getting to sleep (this was my 6th sleep study, I've always had some trouble getting to sleep with all the wires and what not). But even with it taking a while to get to sleep, I felt far better the next day. This is first sleep study that didn't leave me a complete train wreck the next day. The day after the study was actually one of the better days I've had in quite a while. I was rather amazed.
I'm hopeful I'll get back to feeling reasonably well rested with the ASV. I'm using an bipap right now with poor results. The bipap pressure is high (16/12), and its causing central events.
So now I'm waiting for report to make to the doctor, and the doctor to prescribe the machine. And I'm hoping the insurance company doesn't bulk at it (the ASV machines are pricey, but they cheap compared to an MMA).
