There are two types of nasal sprays that work extremely well for people with severe allergies. The first is nasal corticosteriods, but sometimes you have to experiment to find which works best for you. Flonase didn't work for me but Nasonex did. However, there are some concerns about using steroids long-term and I ultimately stopped because I have year-round allergies. That may be less of a concern for you if you only have seasonal allergies. There is also a new antihistamine spray called Patanase that few doctors know about but is quite effective. All of these require prescriptions.
