Posted by SleepyJohn on November 11, 2009 at 15:40:22:So my DME provider tells me that my insurance company will 80%, and I have to 20%, and that my 20% comes $123 and some change per month on an ASV machine rental.
If $123 is 20%, then the monthly rate is $615. Which means rental rate cost more buying the machine outright in no time at all (I know the machine can had for $4000 online, I don't know what the DME provider charges). That would be 6.5 months for the online price.
I seem to remember others running into this.
I tempted to just buy it online (providing the insurance company will pick up the 80%). The catch is that I'd like to know its going to work well before buying.
Even I had to pay for it outright, at $123/per month, it would be paid for in 30 months (with 4% interest).
What have others done?
Thanks.
