Well after several months and finally beginning to get used to the mask, I had a big problem come up...DROOL. HUGE Amounts of it. After trying all kinds of ways to switch to a nasal mask, I finally gave up, and have not been using a CPAP for the last 7 years or so.
Two years ago, I had a sleep study done, that showed no apnea...but they never told me they couldn't get good readings unless I was on my back.
Well, I had surgery in June, and the docs saw my O2 Sats drop dangerously low, into the 70s. They ordered me on O2 at night, or any time I was sleeping. No problem getting used to the nasal cannula, much easier than the mask.
So, the next sleep study was done, and I knew I had to stay on my back, so, low and behold, Rhainy still has Moderate OSA. Ya Think? LOL Anyways, I now have a brand new machine, heated humidifier and full face mask (yes again) and I am trying to get adjusted to them all. Another thing that has changed is that I now have full upper dentures.
I am having dry mouth now, instead of drooling...at least so far. So any ideas that might help if the dry mouth continues?
Has anyone figured out yet how to deal with the drooling yet? I mean it filling up the mask and waking you up in a puddle?
Glad to be back, and hopefully I can contribute, as I have time.
Namaste All,
Rhainy
