My mask started whistling recently also. In my case, it seems to be due to condensation building up near the exhaust holes. I think the change in seasons is causing many people to experience problems that they had not had a short time ago.

One solution, if it works for you, is to lower the humidity on your CPAP. Another temporary solution is to place your finger over some of the holes, and the increased pressure going out the remaining holes will blow out the excess moisture. You might need to move your finger to a few locations to get rid of all of the moisture. That seems to do the job for me.
