I have had central apnea for 46 years now, damaged brain stem due to a rear end auto accident.

My sleep problem has been corrected by the use of a timed bi-pap with o2 added, a heated humidifier and all attached to a full time trach. I do not know how much the trach is necessary for this type of setup but it was necessary for me to be trached for the past 16 years.

I have zero sleep problems now due to apnea.
