There are a variety of sleep disorders besides sleep apnea. I have heard that some doctors/labs primarily just focus on apneas, while others take a more individual approach. I'd suggest finding a different doctor who would consider alternative possibilities.

If you haven't had one recently, it might also be good to get a complete physical exam. There are a number of general physical ailments that can cause sleep problems.

I wouldn't necessarily rule out sleep apnea. There are two ways of evaluating the severity of sleep apnea: by the number of apnea events and by the degree to which it is affecting your life. Maybe at some point you should try a sleep study with CPAP to see if it makes a difference. But my guess is that you might do better to look for alternative explanations.
