One ENT recommended not removing tonsils but rather trying MMA surgery or dental appliance. In light of failing the dental appliance I went to an oral surgeon familiar with MMA. Her office started the wheels rolling for the surgery. A couple days ago they came back saying "the surgery is not necessary but rather cosmetic and that there is a lack of information on whether the surgery is effective for sleep apnea. I thought it was fairly well documented that it as the MOST effective surgery. They are going to appeal. However I am wondering if a medical malpractice lawyer might be a good preemptive measure to right a letter saying his is representing me in this matter.
Anybody have any experience on this?
Thanks
